Dive Travel-Anilao Mabini Batangas Philippines with Divemaster Gary Knapp on DVD

Join us as ActiVenture Tours takes us to the Philippines for an incredible eight day Dive Adventure tour. We depart San Francisco on Philippine Airlines for this 12 hour flight to Manila. We leave Manila by bus to Anilao, Mabini Batangas, about two hours south, billed as the birthplace of Philippine scuba diving, and home to their most vibrant reefs and diverse marine life. It’s also considered the nudibranch capital of the Philippines. The municipality of Mabini is more popular to tourists as “Anilao.” A survey, in 2003, by coral taxonomist Douglas Fenner, listed a total of 319 species and 74 genera of hard corals, including the discovery of eight rare coral species and 25% more than the average number of corals found in the hotbed known as the Coral Triangle, the rich waters shared by Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. 262 species of fish were surveyed in Balayan Bay where Mabini is located. We stop along the way for breakfast and a view of the Tagaytay Taal Volcano, later arriving at the Acacia Dive Resort, a new resort being introduced to divers by Activentures. Acacia Dive Resort caters to divers from around the world. On this tour we dive the beautiful reefs and view the incredible macro marine life, including nudibranches native to this region. Anilao is located at the far end of a small peninsula and offers over 36 dive sites, including steep walls, shipwrecks and drift dives.
